Yeah, but lots of people think Ruby is slow because it's dynamic. Which isn't the case. It's slow because it's interpreted. Once it's bytecode, watch out!

I think the fact that IronPython performs well in the CLR means that the CLR handles dynamic dispatch pretty well. But I'm no compiler guy.
